Last year my friends Jennifer, Amanda, and I all went to down town Raleigh for First Night. We thought it was fun enough to bring the family this year.
From about 3 pm on they have different shows going on in the surrounding buildings. They have plays, improv, ice sculptures, dancing, concerts, exhibits.... everything. You just have to decide what you want to go to. After all the shows everybody comes back to the main stage for a concert and we wait for the acorn to drop. It was raining intermittenly which added to the excitement.
The four of us all tried to make it under one small umbrella. Ha ha... See what it does to you?
And this is the acorn that they drop. Don't ask me why we have to drop an acorn.

ooooh looks like someone was partying a little to much and in turn lost the "rabbit rabbit" on New Years, btw that one is double the luck...:)
